How much is the CELPIP exam in Canada?

When budgeting for your Canadian immigration application, language testing is one of your primary upfront costs. The official fee for the CELPIP General exam in Canada is $299 CAD plus tax.

1. Total CELPIP test cost by Canadian province (with tax)

Because provincial tax rates differ across Canada, your total out-of-pocket cost depends on where your test center is located:

2. International CELPIP test pricing (outside Canada)

If you are taking CELPIP outside of Canada, test fees are priced in local currencies or US dollars:

• India: ₹15,500 INR. Includes local GST. Test centers in Chandigarh, Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, etc.
• United Arab Emirates (UAE): AED 1,100. Test centers located in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
• United States (USA): $215 USD. Available at select Prometric centers across major US cities.
• Philippines: ₱12,000 PHP. Test center located in Manila.

3. Additional service fees (Express Rating, re-evaluation & transfers)

Prometric offers several optional add-on services:

• Express Rating Service (~$50 CAD): Delivers your online test results in 1 to 2 business days instead of the standard 2 to 4 business days.
• Score Re-evaluation (~$65 CAD): Request a human regrade for Speaking or Writing within 6 months. Refunded for any component whose score increases!
• Test Date Transfer (first transfer free, then $50 CAD + tax): Reschedule your test location or date at least 7 days before your test.
