If you are currently living, working, or studying in Canada and applying for Permanent Residency (PR) under Express Entry (FSW, CEC, FST) or a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), the CELPIP General test is widely recognized as the premier English evaluation option.
Why candidates in Canada prefer CELPIP
Unlike international English exams that blend British, Australian, and American accents, CELPIP uses 100% Canadian English pronunciations, spelling conventions, and workplace scenarios. If you reside in Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary, Ottawa, or Montreal, you encounter these exact communicative contexts daily.
Key benefits of taking CELPIP in Canada
- Single 3-hour sitting: Complete all four test sections (Listening, Reading, Writing, Speaking) in one sitting without separate interview scheduling.
- Integrated computer tools: Writing section includes an automatic word counter and built-in Canadian spell-checker.
- Fast results: Official online score reports are available in just 2 to 4 business days (or 2 business days with Express Rating).

Targeting CLB 9 for maximum Express Entry CRS points
In Express Entry, hitting CLB 9 across all four modules (CELPIP Level 9 in Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking) unlocks the critical Skill Transferability bonus points. This can add up to 100 points to your Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score, frequently making the difference in receiving an Invitation to Apply (ITA).
