CELPIP Speaking Task 7 asks you to give your opinion about a topic. A strong answer states your position clearly and supports it with reasons and examples.
I agree that public transport should be free or at least much cheaper because it would benefit both individuals and the community. First, free public transport would help people save money, especially students, seniors, and low-income workers who travel every day. This could reduce financial pressure and make it easier for people to access work, school, and appointments. Second, it would encourage more people to leave their cars at home, which could reduce traffic congestion and pollution. Of course, the government would need to manage the cost carefully, but I think the long-term benefits are worth it. Overall, free public transport would make cities more affordable and environmentally friendly.
