CelpipUni vs the official CELPIP practice tests
The official celpip.ca practice tests are the most exam-like practice there is, but they don't score your Speaking or Writing. CelpipUni does, on CELPIP's four rating categories. Most candidates should use both, in that order.

What do the official practice tests do best?
They are written by the people who write the real test, and they run in the real interface. If you want to know exactly what test day looks and sounds like, nothing else matches them.
What don't they do?
They don't tell you what level your own Speaking or Writing answer would get, or what to change. You compare yourself against the Performance Standards, which is hard to do honestly when you're the one who spoke.
How to use both
- Take a free official practice test first to see the format.
- Practise daily on CelpipUni: one Speaking task and one Writing task a day, fixing the lowest-rated category each time. Start with the free practice test.
- One to two weeks before your test, sit a full official practice test under exam conditions as a final check.
