To achieve a CLB 9+ in Task 3, you must demonstrate a flawless command of Spatial Prepositions. These are the tiny words (in, on, next to, above) that explain the physical relationship between objects. If you misuse them, your entire description falls apart.

Remember the prompt's instruction: "Describe the scene so that someone who cannot see the picture can understand it."

The Vague Geography Trap: If you say, "There is a man with a balloon, and a dog, and a car," the listener's brain just sees a random pile of objects. You must anchor them to each other. "There is a man holding a balloon standing directly adjacent to a parked car, while a dog barks beneath the vehicle." Precision creates the mental image.

🎭 The "Anchor and Relate" Strategy

When you focus your "Camera" on a specific area, you must pick one large, obvious object to act as the Anchor. Then, you use spatial prepositions to describe the smaller objects Relating to it.

How to Beat It:

The Area: The center of the image.
The Anchor: A large fountain.
The Relating Objects: A bird, a bench, a child.

The Description:
"Moving to the center of the plaza, the focal point is a massive stone fountain. Perched atop the fountain is a pigeon. Directly adjacent to the water feature, a child is running, while his mother sits on a bench just behind him."

You used the fountain as the Anchor, and perfectly mapped the other objects around it.

🎯 Question Strategy: The "Action-Detail" Combo

A CLB 9+ speaker doesn't just say where something is; they combine the location with an advanced action and a specific descriptive detail.

The Formula: [Preposition Location] + [Specific Noun] + [Present Continuous Action] + [Clothing/Color Detail].

Basic (CLB 5): "Next to the tree, a boy is eating an apple."
CLB 9+ Combo: "Just to the right of the oak tree, a young boy wearing a striped sweater is eagerly consuming a green apple."

This single sentence hits all four pillars of the rubric perfectly.

📚 Essential Spatial Vocabulary

Stop using "next to" and "on top of." Upgrade your prepositions to sound like a professional commentator.

Left/Right Confusion: When staring at a screen under pressure, people often say "left" when they mean "right." Practice tapping your left leg when you say "left" to ground yourself physically.
The "And" Overload: Connecting every location with "and". "And on the left... and on the right... and in the middle." Use transition words! "Shifting our focus to the right side... Meanwhile, in the background..."
