Task 5 — Compare & Persuade
Your partner is planning to choose insulation for your new home, comparing spray foam and fiberglass options. Look at the two options below and persuade them to choose one over the other.
Choose the option you will argue for:
Excellent R-value for superior energy efficiency. Creates an airtight seal, preventing drafts and moisture. Deters pests and allergens. Higher upfront cost ($2.50-$3.50 per sq. ft.). Requires professional installation. Offers significant long-term energy savings.
Good R-value, a common industry standard. Lower upfront cost ($0.50-$1.50 per sq. ft.). Can be a DIY project for cost savings. Less effective at air sealing compared to spray foam. Can settle over time, potentially reducing effectiveness. Does not deter pests.
