We are thrilled to announce that preparations for the 15th Annual Heritage Cultural Festival are officially underway! This beloved event, scheduled for July 12-14, 2024, celebrates the diverse cultures that enrich our city, and it wouldn't be possible without the passion and dedication of volunteers like you. We are currently seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our planning committee for various key roles.
This year, we're particularly focused on expanding our outreach and enhancing the visitor experience. We need volunteers for several critical areas. The Logistics Team will manage site setup, vendor coordination, and equipment. The Marketing & Communications Team will handle social media, press releases, and promotional materials. Our Cultural Programmers will curate performances, workshops, and exhibitions, ensuring a rich and authentic representation of global traditions. Lastly, the Volunteer Coordination Team will recruit, train, and manage all festival-day staff.
We are holding an informational session on November 15th at 6:00 PM at the Community Centre Auditorium. This meeting is essential for anyone interested in a leadership role on the planning committee. During this session, we will outline specific responsibilities, discuss time commitments (which average 5-10 hours per week leading up to the event), and answer any questions you may have. While attendance is highly recommended for committee roles, general festival-day volunteer sign-ups will open in May 2024.
