Subject: Urgent: Community Emergency Drill - Volunteers & Logistics Update!
Dear Residents,
I hope this email finds you well. I'm writing to provide an important update regarding our upcoming community emergency preparedness drill, scheduled for Saturday, October 26th, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. As you know, this drill is crucial for ensuring our neighborhood is ready to respond effectively to potential emergencies, and we truly appreciate your commitment.
We still need more volunteers, particularly for two key roles: First Aid Responders and Logistics Coordinators. First Aid Responders will assist with simulated injuries and triage, requiring basic first aid certification or experience. Logistics Coordinators will help set up and dismantle stations, manage supplies, and guide participants. Please reply to this email by October 18th if you can lend a hand in either capacity. Mark Johnson is leading the volunteer recruitment, so he'll be following up directly with those who express interest.
A quick note on equipment: We're asking everyone participating to bring their own emergency kit (water, non-perishable food, flashlight, basic first aid items). For those without a kit, a limited number of starter kits will be available for purchase at a subsidized cost of $15 on the day of the drill. These kits are being provided by the local fire department.
Finally, we'll be holding a mandatory Volunteer Briefing Session on Wednesday, October 23rd, at 7:00 PM in the Community Hall. This session is essential for all confirmed volunteers to review safety protocols, receive role-specific instructions, and ask any last-minute questions. Attendance is non-negotiable for those assisting on drill day.
Thank you for your continued dedication to our community's safety.
Best regards,
Sarah Chen
Community Preparedness Coordinator

Hi Sarah,
Thanks for the update on the emergency drill. I've read through the details and wanted to respond about volunteering. I'd be happy to as a Logistics Coordinator. I don't have first aid certification, but I'm quite organized and available to help with setting up stations and managing supplies.
I've also noted the deadline for volunteering is . I'll make sure to confirm my availability with Mark Johnson directly, as mentioned in your email, to ensure everything is on track.
Regarding the emergency kits, I already have that I regularly update, so I won't need to purchase one. I appreciate the initiative to make starter kits available for those who might not have them.
I will definitely attend the on October 23rd at the Community Hall. It sounds like an important session for all volunteers, and I want to be fully prepared.
One quick question: will there be any provided for volunteers during the drill, or should we plan to bring our own? Also, could you confirm if the drill will still proceed if there's ?
Thanks again for all your hard work in organizing this.
Best,
Alex Kim
